Announcement: 3-15-20 Update Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dear Great Valley Academy Families,

After much consideration, further communication with Stanislaus County School District and Stanislaus County Office of Education superintendents, as well as the Governor’s recently announced direction on social distancing, Great Valley Academy will close its campuses.  Schools will close beginning Thursday, March 19 and will reopen on Monday, April 6.  By remaining open through Wednesday, we give families who need it, time to make arrangements for childcare.

As we prepare for the upcoming closure of GVA schools, if keeping your child home from Monday, March 16 through Wednesday, March 18, 2020 is the right thing to do for your family, please do so.  Please call in your student’s absence and it will be marked excused. If sending your child to school is the right thing to do for your family, please continue to do so from Monday, March 16 through Wednesday March 18, 2020.

During the closure, Great Valley Academy will continue to provide nutrition services to our families with pick-ups at each campus. We will provide distribution details early this week.

We are also working on providing school work for our students to continue their education while the schools are closed and will send updates once more information is available.

We will continue to monitor the ever-changing landscape of the COVID 19 details, and work alongside Stanislaus County Office of Education, as we navigate these unprecedented times, and will keep you updated.

As always, the safety and wellness of our students and staff continues to be our priority, we are grateful for our school community and your help in maintaining a healthy and safe environment.

Sincerely,
Leah Silvestre Franklin, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
