Announcement: 3-26-20 Update Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Dear GVA families,
As you know, many areas in California, including Stanislaus County, are experiencing an expanding outbreak of respiratory illness caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19). In our ongoing efforts to prevent even more spread of COVID-19, Great Valley Academy, in collaboration with the Stanislaus County Office of Education, the 25 school districts in the county, and the Stanislaus Public Health Department, is announcing that school closures are extending through May 3, 2020. The reopen date is tentatively set for Monday, May 4 2020, contingent upon ongoing recommendations from Stanislaus County Office of Education, Stanislaus County Public Health, and the Governors stay at home order. FYI, see attached memo from Superintendent Kuykendall.
Please continue to follow the Governor’s stay at home order and we encourage you to continue washing hands for 20 seconds, cough or sneeze into your sleeve and stay at home if possible. If you need to go out, please practice “Social Distancing” by remaining at least 6 feet away from others.
- School Meals (both GVA campuses, and most district school sites)
- Childcare (see previous message for local options)
Distance Learning and Instruction
- Information will continue to be sent to parents by individual teachers
During this unprecedented time for people around the world, we appreciate all that you are doing to support your students, and continue to be grateful to have you as part of our GVA community, where the focus remains on students, staff and families.
