Announcement: School Reopening Notice - July 2020
I am sure many of you have been following the local Covid trends as well as communications from our county Public Health Officer. As you know, the trend of increasing Covid positive results and related hospitalizations continue in record numbers both locally and throughout California.
Given that, and guidance provided by our Public Health Officer and County Superintendent of Schools (see attached), we will return to school on August 11th, using a distance learning model. I am disappointed that we can not return our students to our classrooms safely, as that has been our goal since school closure in March. And, we are committed to ensuring that when we all come back together, in whatever form it may take, that we do so in a manner that focuses on safety first.
Safe. Loved. Learning. That has always been our core philosophy, and in these challenging times, this becomes even more important than ever.
I appreciate your patience, as we focus on student and staff safety, and navigate uncharted waters launching a new school year. I know there are a million details to be addressed, and equally as many questions, and while we don't have the answers in this current moment, we will be working through these in the upcoming weeks.
We will move forward working to address the needs of our students, in alignment with state requirements to implement a student centered distance learning model.
Stay healthy, stay safe and enjoy every moment of these last weeks of summer!
